Mercato: Jorge Mendes, quadrupled salary, Skriniar: the latest echoes of the Kvara file at PSG

The Kvara soap opera is in full swing at PSG, which has been negotiating with Naples since Thursday to try to secure the signature of the Georgian left winger. The French and Italian media have published interesting new elements in recent hours. We take stock.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia appears on the front page of the daily L’Equipe this Friday, the day after reports of a strong relaunch by PSG to try to recruit the 23-year-old Georgian winger, already courted last summer, this winter. But unlike the last transfer window, Naples is a seller this time and the transfer has a good chance of going through.

Jorge Mendes involved in Kvara transfer?

In today’s edition, L’Equipe tells us that many influential intermediaries are trying to move the issue forward, including a certain Jorge Mendes, the Portuguese super moneyman who needs no introduction and who represents many players at PSG, including Marco Asensio, who is leaving this winter.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSG is offering Kvara to quadruple his Neapolitan salary, which is estimated today at around €1.8 million net per season in Naples and which could therefore be around €7.2 million net at PSG in signature case. Negotiations between PSG and the Kvara camp, which already took place last summer, are progressing well according to this source.

Naples wants between €80 and €90 million, without a player in return

PSG is also obviously discussing with Naples, which is demanding between 80 and 90 million euros from PSG according to sources, still much less than the 120 million requested six months ago. PSG offered Milan Skriniar to Naples plus a sum of money, but according to Sky Italia, Naples does not want compensation in the form of a player and demands €80 million, between fixed part and bonus.

The Italian club would, however, not necessarily be against recovering Milan Skriniar, but only in the form of a loan according to Sky Italia, knowing that his large Parisian salary cannot be covered in full by the Italian club. But the idea is not for Skriniar to lower the rating of Kvara’s transfer, at least in the minds of Italian leaders.

In Italy, the daily La Repubblica, not necessarily the most reliable, assures that PSG made a first offer of 45 million euros to Naples, who obviously refused it. This source confirms that Napoli only want money, and no player involved in the operation, and adds that Antonio Conte instead wants Danilo (who Juventus hopes to sell this winter six months before the end of his contract) than Skriniar.

Kvara reportedly already has a deal with PSG, Premier League interested

The Neapolitan daily Il Mattino has already announced a contractual agreement between Kvara and PSG for a contract until 2029 with a salary of €8.5 million net per season plus bonuses. According to this source, Naples informed the Georgian’s agents that it would take 90 million euros to recruit him this winter.

If PSG seems to be in the best position in this Kvara file for the moment, L’Equipe mentions strong English competition and interest from Manchester United, Newcastle and Chelsea. Several intermediaries would have been mandated by Naples to place Kvara in the Premier League. The Athletic confirms the interest of the Blues and adds that of Liverpool, who had not particularly planned to recruit a winger this winter, but greatly appreciates the Georgian.
