A great striker
It’s done. The Girondins de Bordeaux have formalized the recruitment of striker Étienne Beugre from Slovenia, since he played for NK Maribor (see video below).
He arrived in Maribor in the winter of 2024 from AS Denguélé. He therefore played in the same club as Zan Vipotnik before his signing for the Girondins.
He must bring more depth to the squad, indicates the club in its press release. “It complements Andy Carroll and Yanis Merdji” we specify at the club.
This season, despite limited playing time, Beugre has scored 3 goals in 11 games.
He also participated in 8 European Cup preliminary round matches and scored 1 goal in this competition.
Agreement between the two clubs
He signed up for two seasons with Bordeaux. Furthermore, he was under contract with Maribor until May 2025. It is not known whether the Bordeaux club paid a transfer fee.
-Maribor ad “an agreement between the two clubs”to release the player from the remaining contract months.
He will play at the forefront of Bruno Irlès’ attack alternately or with Andy Carroll. Bordeaux has one of the weakest attacks in Group B of National 2 with only 14 goals scored in 13 matches played.
