Amine Gouiri will not go to Galatasaray. While Foot Mercato reported this Tuesday, January 7, an interest from the Turkish club in the Stade Rennais striker, the latter will not join the Istanbul team. At the top of its championship, Galatasaray made inquiries with Rennes to find out the terms of the former Nice player's exit, but the answer was clear: a departure is not envisaged this winter. On the player's side, no contact has been made and Gouiri himself would not be interested in any case.
Since the arrival of Jorge Sampaoli, the number 10 of Stade Rennais has played all the matches apart from the 32nd final of the Coupe de France against Bordeaux which he missed due to injury. Last summer, Gouiri informed his management very early on that he intended to spend the season in Rennes.
He will see the arrival, this Wednesday, of a new goalkeeper in the person of Brice Samba. The Lensois captain must commit in the coming hours after having passed his medical examination. He will be accompanied in this new project by Hervé Sekli, goalkeeper coach, who is making the same journey from the north. Olivier Sorin, who occupies this specific position in Rennes, will assist him in his mission.
