François Morinière returns to the board of directors of the Professional Football League (LFP). The former leader of the group The Team succeeds Cyril Linette, himself a former general director of the sports daily, who had recently resigned from his position as independent director.
François Morinière replaces Linette on the board of the LFP
This election, conducted electronically, follows the decision of the General Assembly of December 5. Morinière, who had already served as an independent member of the LFP board of directors from 2020 to 2024, received massive support with 97.60% of the votes cast.
Only candidate for the vacant position
This vote confirms the confidence placed in the man who now occupies the chairmanship of the board of directors of Bayard Presse, whose expertise in the world of sports media is recognized. His return comes at a key moment for French professional football, when the LFP faces major challenges, particularly in terms of TV rights and economic development. He was the only candidate to run for the place left vacant by Linette, since his defeat in the election for the presidency of the League.
