Artur Jorge, 53, was the coach of Botafogo, a club owned by Eagle Football and Textor – also owner of Olympique Lyonnais in France, Molenbeek in Belgium and shareholder of Crystal Palace in England – since April 2024. Under his leadership , the Carioca team obtained 21 victories, drew 15 times and conceded nine defeats, and signed the Copa Libertadores-Brazilian Championship double this season.
In addition to this change on the bench, Botafogo will also lose several major players this winter, like Thiago Almada, who announced his arrival at OL, or Luiz Henrique, who would also like to join the Lyon club.
