SC Bastia coach Benoît Tavenot spoke after his team's defeat on the GF38 pitch this Friday January 3 as part of the 17th day of Ligue 2.
>>> The GF38 overthrows Bastia
“I feel more anger than frustration. We're frustrated when we come out of a match where we totally did the right thing, but we didn't totally do the right thing tonight. Despite that, we lead 2-1 in the 82nd minute, we have to know how to close the shop, show a little more maturity and win this match. I am embarrassed by our defensive animation, which was our strong point but became our weak point this evening. We were constantly out of balance. We had the ball a lot, but every time they got it back, they hurt us. Solidity concerns everyone, but we weren't performing well here. I hope this is a good reminder, because I have a really bitter taste in my mouth. We need to get this out of the way as quickly as possible and prepare for the derby against the ACA next Friday.
In what we have emerged, it is the first match in the season where I finished the match with a bad taste in my mouth. We played average matches, but I felt we were consistent. This evening, we weren't enough and we were punished coldly at the last minute, like in Metz. I'm angry tonight, I'm angry with myself too. We were complacent and we simply didn't respect the game tonight. We did some crazy things (sic) and we could have been down 2-0 or 3-0 after a quarter of an hour of play! »
