The new coach of Stade Malherbe Caen (Calvados), Bruno Baltazar, knows that he should be able to rely on two or three additional recruits at the end of the hivernal market which opened on Wednesday January 1, 2025. While the year has just started, a new face has appeared at the Venoix training center.
It is aboutAlex Moucketou-Moussounda. Central defender, he must notably participate in a session in the afternoon. The medical examination was successfully completed.
Gabon and Cyprus
Alex Moucketou-Moussounda arrives straight from Cyprus where in recent years he wore the colors of Aris Limassol for whom he has played nearly 90 matches since 2021. Born in Gabon and aged 24, he will discover a French championship for the first time. Before leaving for Cyprus, he played for a Gabonese club. Also, it was selected a twenty times in the national teamwith the Panthers.
“He’s a player who has the qualities we need,” reacted Bruno Baltazar. Young, he is very athletic and has very good skills with the ball.” Alex Moucketou-Moussounda will, however, not be there this Friday January 3, 2025 with his new teammates to face Clermont at the Michel d'Ornano stadium.
“We are already connected”
The player's profile seems to fit with the playing philosophy desired by the Caen neo-technician. “His arrival was already concluded before my arrival”specifies Bruno Baltazar. For him, his arrival at the start of the transfer window proves two things: “the ability of management and scouting to be able to recruit quickly so as not to waste time compared to the championship which is already resuming, and that shows that we are connected with direction in terms of game plans.” Bruno Baltazar would particularly like to see his new team, in the coming weeks, have more possession of the ball than in the past. The ball skills of the first recruit of 2025 must go in this direction.
