A year and a half after his departure from Lens for Al-Nassr, Seko Fofana is back in France. This Wednesday, the Ivorian international signed up for 4 and a half years with Stade Rennais, where he will notably find his former general director, Arnaud Pouille. In the wake of his signing, the player also admitted to the club media that Pouille, as well as sports director Massara, had been extremely important in his choice to return to France.

“I am very happy to join Stade Rennais and start 2025 with this new challenge. I have always observed Stade Rennais carefully, it is a club that I have often met, it counts in this championship. The discussions with Arnaud Pouille and Frederic Massara made the difference. They told me about the project and the expectations of the shareholders. The message was strong and the decision was very simple afterwards. I'm very excited about starting, there are talented players at Rennes and I think the club is out of place. We will see the chance to be able to string together matches and demonstrate that the start of the season was below the club's potential. I hope that we will be able to reverse the trend very quickly”expressed the 29-year-old Ivorian.
