According to Football Club de Marseille, OM will try their luck again for Zeki Celik, put on the market by AS Rome.
If most of the media attention today is focused on the Paul Pogba file, Olympique de Marseille has another priority for this winter. Indeed, Roberto De Zerbi asked his leaders to sign a right-back as a priority to fill the departure of Jonathan Clauss, who was never really replaced this summer.
Zeki Celik (AS Roma), the perfect option for OM?
If the names of Kiliann Sildillia (Fribourg, 22 years old) and Danilo (Juventus Turin, 33 years old) have been mentioned, another avenue was recently opened by Football Club de Marseille: that leading to the former LOSC defender, Zeki Celik (AS Roma, 27 years old).
Pushed towards the exit by his Serie A club, the Turk represents an interesting alternative to the two other options mentioned. Not only does Celik know Ligue 1 and its demands very well, but he also has the advantage of being in his prime, cheaper in transfer than Sildillia and less greedy in salary than Danilo. Last winter, OM had already tried to sign Celik but the non-departure of Clauss had closed this avenue.
