At the beginning of November, Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters were victims of a savage attack on the sidelines of the Europa League match being played in Amsterdam. Dutch justice handed down the first sentences this Tuesday.
The images had gone around the world, on the night of November 7 to 8, while leaving the stadium after attending the match between Ajax Amsterdam and Maccabi Tel-Avi, Israeli supporters of the club had been violently attacked. All this took place in the climate that we know, when a call to attack the Jews had been launched on social networks. More than 60 people were arrested by Dutch security forces, with Israeli authorities complaining of a certain passivity before Maccabi fans were finally protected.
Almost two months after this attack in the heart of Amsterdam, a Dutch court sentencedfive men were sentenced for acts of violence and complicity in violence, the daily De Telegraaf reported this Tuesday. The sentences range from community service to 6 months in prison for one of the attackers. The public prosecutor can appeal this decision.
