On Free, the former Girondins de Bordeaux striker,
Pedro Pauletawas asked to explain what scheme he liked to play in when he was a professional.
“Which scheme did I prefer to play in? It really depends on the attacker. For example, in Bordeaux, with Lilian (Laslandes), we got along very well. He did a lot of good for my style of play. I benefited a lot from the spaces he created. I spent a lot of time around him. He deflected the ball well with his head, he kept it well too. He knew my calls, and we got along very well. Afterwards, I also liked playing alone in front, when for example I had Vikash Dhorasoo behind me, because he knew me by heart. But it’s true that when you have a striker with you like Lilian Laslandes, it can only do you a lot of good.”
The former Bordeaux player then recounted his transfer, in 2003-2004, to Paris Saint-Germain.
“Two years before, at the hotel, I met Francis Graille, the President of PSG at the time. I received the trophy for the best player of the previous season with Bordeaux, I took the trophy, and I saw a gentleman coming up behind me. He tells me that he is going to be president of PSG, and that he wants to bring me to Paris. I left, and in fact the contacts and interests started there, after the UNFP trophies.”
