Bayern Munich – PSG: Luis Enrique not tender with Ousmane Dembélé after the defeat in the Champions League

Saint-Germain sank again in the Champions League and this defeat hurt Luis Enrique. The PSG coach gave a sad assessment of his team's performance against Bayern Munich.

One more drama for Paris Saint-Germain. Against Bayern Munich, PSG once again took on water and suffered a third defeat in the Champions League in five matches. In its two away trips, Paris has not brought home any points and now knows that it must win its last three matches to hope to join the top 16.

After the final whistle, Luis Enrique appeared at the press conference with a bad-day look. His analysis is rather painful, especially on Ousmane Dembélé who was sent off an hour into the game. “My impression is that in the first half we were not very far away, but we were not able to overcome their pressing, they recovered high and our pressing was not good, we did not recover in their half of the field.

At the start of the second period, there were reasons for hope. In the first 10-15 minutes, we gave the impression of creating more danger, but there was this exclusion, which was a serious error. We lost a player and played ten against this team… But the last half hour remained positive because we were able to stay in the match until the end even if Bayern deserved their victory without a doubt. Defeats are embarrassing but it allows us to have information on the players for the future, to see where we are going,” an annoyed Enrique chanted in front of the journalists.

PSG is preparing to play three decisive matches to close this phase of the Champions League. They will first play against RB Salzburg away, then host Manchester City before traveling to VfB Stuttgart for the final day.

With only four points on the clock, the Parisians can no longer aim for the play-offs. They will probably need to win two of the three remaining matches to have any chance of qualifying for the rest of the competition.
