As President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi once again reminded us this Thursday, PSG is seeking to leave the Parc des Princes and have a new stadium built with a much greater capacity. However, while few spectators were present against Toulouse this Friday evening, Kevin Diaz believes that too large a capacity within the new Parisian enclosure could be a danger.
For several years, the Qatari leaders of PSG trying to redeem the Princes Park. However, the latter come up against the Paris town hall which categorically refuses to cede the mythical enclosure of the Porte de Saint-Cloud to foreign owners. As a result, the upper echelons of PSG want to build a new stadium.
“We need it, otherwise we’re dead!” »
Guest of the show Rothen Ignites this Thursday, the president of PSG Nasser Al-Khelaïfi once again confirmed this desire, citing in particular a concern for capacity. “I really like the Parc des Princes. Everyone loves him. If I decided with my heart, we wouldn't leave. But today, with my head, I see that all the other European clubs have stadiums with 100, 90 or 80,000 seats. We need it, otherwise we're dead! We need to leave”confided the Parisian leader.
“It’s quite sad when it’s not full, especially if it’s to leave the Park”
But while this Friday evening, on the occasion of the reception of Toulouse (3-0 victory), the Princes Park was not at all filled, some observers like Kevin Diaz are concerned about a drastic increase in the capacity of the new stadium PSG. “The Parc des princes not full? This is worth noting. There were Paris Saint-Germain supporters who noted this during the match. Especially in a week where you say you want to make a stadium where you want to have 90,000 seats. Be careful though because we've seen a lot of clubs like Olympique Lyonnais build a very large stadium after a very good period and so it's quite sad when it's not full, especially if it's to leave the Park »said the latter at the microphone of l’After Foot.
