The Greens beaten by Montpellier

The start of the match was difficult for the Greens who took the opener in the second minute. On a cross from Ifeoma Onumonu, Lola Gstalter inherited a ball that no one wanted to take and made it happen in the first action of the match (ASSE 0-1 , 2e). In the process, the Greens had the opportunity to respond thanks to a great intervention from Lisa Martinez in midfield. At the end of the action, Chloé Tapia finally came up against Justine Lerond. The first quarter of an hour passed and Montpellier ensured possession and set the pace. The errors accumulated on the Hérault side and ASSE took advantage of good set pieces without finding the solution. Tension rose on the pitch and the Greens took the break. Already a passer, Ifeoma Onumonu found the space to finish from close range (ASSE 0 – 2 Montpellier, 43e). The Greens returned to the locker room, silent, despite a last action which could have lifted Salif-Keita. After a good breakthrough into the area, Sarah Stratigakis struck, but the Montpellier goalkeeper did not tremble.

Returning from the break, on her first ball of the game, Amandine Pierre-Louis was not far from reducing the gap in the score, her little spiked ball narrowly passing over the cage. Morgane Belkhiter also tried her luck on a cross-shot, almost surprising Justine Lerond. At the hour mark, Solène Champagnac was not far from finding a header which could have proved to be a saving grace, but Sarah Cambot's cross went narrowly over her head. We played the 90th minute and ASSE finished at 10. Already warned, Chloé Tapia received a second yellow, synonymous with expulsion. Despite six minutes of additional time, the score remained frozen… The Greens lost (0-2).

Laurent Mortel's players will return to the pitch for the reception of En-Avant Guingamp on December 7.
