ASSE coach Olivier Dall'Oglio spoke after his team's very important victory against Montpellier (1-0).
AS Saint-Étienne won the match of fear this Saturday against Montpellier (1-0), giving itself some air in the standings. At the end of a match which could have gone to either side, the Greens made the difference after returning from the locker room thanks to a goal from Benjamin Bouchouari (47th) and were able to resist at the end of the match.
“It was a match that should not be lost”
A few minutes after the match, Olivier Dall'Oglio stopped at the DAZN microphone where he shared his relief at having pocketed the three points. “It was a match that should not be lost. The public helped us once again. We had the impression that the match was never going to end,” confided the Verts coach. Then asked about Benjamin Bouchouari, the only scorer of this meeting, Olivier Dall'Oglio was rave about his player.
“To talk about Benjamin Bouchouari, I think he’s a boy who became aware of certain things this summer. First he learned to defend better, then he developed his ability to score. We had to convince him that he would surely have chances and that he had to be more decisive in front of goal. He's a midfielder who works a lot, but at one point, as we see in the images, he finds himself in front of goal and he takes his chance. In the end, we are all happy, within the staff, because we make them all work on this aspect of the game, in front of goal, and we know that it is not only the attackers who score for us. »
