In an interview with the Algerian media, Al Khabbar, the former goalkeeper coach of the National Team, Hassan Belhadji wanted to deny the words of the Tunisian coach who had accused the Algerian Football Federation of giving compensation to players binationals who opt for Algeria.
After Tunisia's defeat against Gambia, the Tunisian coach made serious remarks concerning the Algerian Football Federation at a press conference. The latter had indicated that to convince the dual nationals to choose the Algerian selection, the FAF would offer rewards to the players: « Do you think that dual nationals who join the Algerian selection, like Gouiri, come for free? Although he did not want to give the identity of the goalkeeper coach who would have confided this to him, all the clues given during his statement led to Hassan Belhadji who had worked with him during his time at JS Saoura and who had coached the goalkeepers of the Algerian selection during the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
“I never discussed the issue of dual nationals with him”
During a telephone interview with the Algerian media Al News, Hassan Belhadji wanted to condemn the comments made by the Tunisian coach : « I worked with him a few years ago at JS Saoura, for three or four months at most, and I never discussed with him the question of players with dual nationality joining the National Team ».
The former goalkeeper coach adds that Kaïs Yaakoubi would have made these remarks at a press conference in order to justify the defeat of Tunisia and which would perhaps hide a certain jealousy against Algerian football: “ I was surprised by these statements which are nothing other than an attempt on his part to justify the poor situation of his country's national team and its recent defeat, perhaps motivated by jealousy of the success of Algerian football
