Opposed for several months against Kylian Mbappé, who is demanding €55 million in unpaid salaries and unpaid bonuses, PSG has decided to turn to the FFF to try to resolve this long-term dispute.
New episode in the legal battle between PSG and Kylian Mbappé. The new Real Madrid player is demanding €55 million in unpaid salaries and unpaid bonuses from his former employer, who for its part believes that it does not have to pay him this sum under an oral agreement between the parties dating back to summer 2023 and relating to this famous sum of €55 million.
An oral agreement contested by the entourage of the 2018 world champion, who decided to contact the LFP legal commission at the end of August to recover their money. The latter, after listening to the parties in September and unsuccessfully recommending mediation (refused by the player), ordered PSG to pay Mbappé the €55 million he was demanding, all within a week.
PSG refused and appealed this decision to the LFP Joint Appeals Committee, which confirmed the decision of the LFP Legal Committee in October. Still not wishing to pay, PSG counterattacked last week according to AFP by requesting that its financial dispute be discussed before the FFF executive committee.
PSG expects the matter to be resolved at the industrial tribunal
According to a source close to PSG management cited by the press agency, the club obviously does not hope for much from this recourse and mainly uses it “on principle”convinced that the case will then continue before the industrial tribunal in a long-term procedure which is likely to last several months, or even several years.
In addition to seizing the FFF, PSG still has a final possible recourse before the football authorities before the industrial tribunal gets involved: seizing an administrative court with a view to conciliation before the National Olympic Committee and French sportsman (CNOSF).
While awaiting the outcome of this legal battle, Kylian Mbappé has once again been excused from the November gathering of the French team and is training in Madrid after visiting Achraf Hakimi and Arnau Tenas last week in Paris.
