Each duel between LOSC and OGC Nice is an opportunity for the two clubs to rekindle their friendship. This Sunday, if the Aiglons spoiled the party, their supporters opened it by paying tribute to the Dogues Virage Est.
This 2024-2025 season is rich in history, from the club celebrating its 80th anniversary to its supporters. The Dogues Virage Est section is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, the festivities have already started and a new act took place this Sunday, in Nice. Fans of competing clubs generally feel nothing but animosity towards each other. The affection which links the sections of Lille and Nice supporters is all the more noticed, an exception in the small world of football. Each meeting between the two clubs is an opportunity to rekindle this friendship… and it was once again expressed this Sunday, on the occasion of LOSC's trip to the Côte d'Azur as part of the eleventh day of Ligue 1 McDonald's.
The pressure of this duel was high, with two close teams aiming for Europe, as much as the fervor in the stands. At the start of this meeting, the South Stand of the Allianz Riviera paid tribute, through a tifo, to the Dogues Virage Est section. “Happy birthday to the children of the goddess”could be read in black, red and white letters. With the Lille parking lot, the Nice supporters then carried out a joint cracking of pyrotechnic devices. This tribute, a sign of a friendship that endures through time, officially launched hostilities on the ground. Finally, as often over the last twenty years, these good friends could not decide between them (2-2).
