Cristiano Ronaldo, the last shock transfer of his career?

Under contract with Al-Nassr until the end of the season, Cristiano Ronaldo will probably change scenery but will not necessarily leave Saudi Arabia. A shock transfer to Al-Hilal is rumored.

It was difficult to imagine a few years ago, and yet. After the failure of his return to Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo is not yet retired. The Portuguese, now 39 years old, has been playing for Al-Nassr since 2023, one of the flagship teams in the Saudi Arabian championship. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is still performing well on the pitch (68 goals and 18 assists in 78 appearances in all competitions since his arrival) and recently surpassed the 800 career goal mark. At the end of his contract with his club in June 2025, CR7, who has already affirmed his desire to continue his playing career, is getting closer to leaving, but that does not necessarily mean that he will leave the Middle East for as much.

CR7 close to Al-Hilal to replace Neymar

Local media have claimed in recent hours that Al-Hilal, the best team in the country, wants to take advantage of a possible departure of Neymar (a termination of the contract of the Brazilian who has only played seven games since his arrival last year is envisaged in January) to make a place in the squad and allow the arrival of the Real Madrid legend. The transfer is not confirmed but if it materializes, it will of course be an excellent acquisition for Al-Hilal on a sporting level since CR7 is still in good physical shape but it will also be a excellent advertising for Saudi football and for the club in the spirit of marketing strategy. Currently, Al-Hilal leads the championship after nine days, six points ahead of third-placed Al-Nassr. A departure towards the leader is also an opportunity for CR7 to further enrich an already well-stocked track record, he who is tired of seeing Al-Nassr go through seasons without a title despite his signing.
