Dimitar Berbatov, the former great scorer of Man United, is hoping for a center forward in particular for the Red Devils team.
Manchester United hero Dimitar Berbatov has named Viktor Gyokeres as the club's next signing who he believes will follow new manager Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP.
The Portuguese coach has had a major impact on Sporting over the past four and a half years and has built a team that has won two Primeira Liga titles and two domestic cups.
Berbatov seduced by Gyokeres
Former Red Devils star Berbatov believes that to turn the club around he must sign Sporting striker Gyokeres, who has scored 20 goals and provided 4 assists in just 16 appearances this season. The Bulgarian told Sky Sports that he believed the star would follow his manager to Old Trafford because of their relationship.
“It's interesting because this Viktor Gyokeres is scoring goals and having a lot of fun on the pitch at the moment,
he indicated. So I think there is a special bond with the manager and maybe we could see him in a United shirt.”
Could Gyokeres be the solution to United's offensive problems? Berbatov is convinced of this: “For what he is showing at the moment, I think so (I would like to see United sign him). It must be said that our attackers are not capable of scoring goals like Viktor Gyokeres, 16 in the league, which is embarrassing for a club the size of United. So it’s a position that I would like to see strengthened.”
