This may seem absurd given the news of recent months, but French professional football has money that it does not yet know what to do with. In an article from L'Équipe published this Tuesday, we learn that 19.75 million euros remain to be distributed by the CVC investment fund to Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs. Which ones precisely and to what extent? It is on this crucial point that leaders risk falling apart in the coming weeks.

The amount corresponds to 8.25 million for Ligue 1 (originally intended for ) and 11.5 million for Ligue 2, intended for other clubs which, like FCGB, have not fulfilled all the conditions for the receive. According to the daily, the college of Ligue 1 presidents debated the new distribution of 8.25 million euros but the leader of the Havre Athletic Club, Jean-Michel Roussier, does not intend to share, having long believed that his club has been wronged: “ I opposed this principle of distribution. I consider that almost all of the remaining money is owed to us. My intention is certainly not to share it. There is an amount of 15 million euros that I consider to be owed to us. Before sharing, you have to pay us. »Promoted from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 in 2023, the HAC had received around 1.5 million euros from CVC.

The Ligue 2 college will debate the issue at its next meeting, on November 13.
