N3: First home defeat for the reserve
National 3, Stade Rennes 2 – 3 Guingamp. Facing their Guingamp counterpart, the Stade Rennes reserve team conceded their first defeat of the season at home on Saturday.
The Rennes started the match well. On a cross from Maboulou-Le Bret, Meité does not get his head on target (1st). The visitors react with Godame, who also cannot find the target (5th). Alerted by Coulibaly, H. Do Marcolino then tries his luck at twenty meters but Marec diverts for a corner (10th). The EAG responds with Godame who sees his shot narrowly miss the Silistrie cage (11th).
Before the half-hour mark, Rennes will open the scoring. On a free kick from Mvodo, Meité heads back, Marec pushes back at the feet of J. Do Marcolino who scores his second goal of the season (1-0, 28e). Before half-time, Noireau-Dauriat saw his first attempt go wide (45th), before finally deceiving Silistrie a minute later with a strike from the penalty spot (1-1, 45e +1).
Returning from the locker room, this same Noireau-Dauriat scores a double with a cross shot which first hits the post before returning (1-2, 52e). Guingamp is very close to increasing the score on the hour mark but Aucan’s shot ends up on the Silistrie post (62nd). Rennes is struggling to appear truly dangerous. At the entrance to the area, Borval sees his shot deflected (74th).
The Guingampais take advantage of a loss of ball from Do Marcolino in midfield, Godame launches Noireau-Dauriat who goes to deceive Silistrie with success (1-3, 76e). Sébastien Tambouret’s men are pushing to come back. Mvodo sees his shot deflected for a corner by Marec (90th) before Meité restarts the end of the match with a header at the near post (2-3, 90e). At the end of added time, after another push from Rennes, Mvodo found himself in an ideal position but his shot was too quick (90th+5).
With this defeat, Stade Rennes leaves the leadership position to its opponent of the day and drops to second place. Next meeting in two weeks, still at home, against Milizac.
