Kevin Strootman announces his retirement!

A page is turning for Dutch football with the announcement of Kevin Strootman, former Oranje midfielder, with whom he accumulated 46 caps. The midfielder who played for Genoa until the end of last season has just made his retirement official on social networks with a sober message: “Careers end. Thank you football!”.

Flop at OM, golden age at Roma

On the French side, Kevin Strootman is best known for his failed stint at OM. An industrial accident since his signing for 25 million euros plus three bonuses, with star status, gave a fairly disastrous record on the field, to the point that Genoa then took him back on loan then in a permanent transfer. But Strootman’s golden age will remain his time at AS Roma from 2013 to 2018, where he established himself as a European reference in his position. Strootman therefore hangs up his crampons at 34 years old.
