In-form LOSC player, Edon Zhegrova has remained in the North of France this season but maintains good odds on the transfer market. Several Serie A clubs, the championship of his former coach Paulo Fonseca, are keeping an eye on him.
Edon Zhegrova’s 2024/2025 season started as he finished the previous one. A key player for LOSC since last season, the Kosovo player has already scored three goals and provided an assist in five Ligue 1 matches since August. Lille finished fourth and managed to qualify for the Champions League thanks to his performances, and he had a significant role in the victory against Real Madrid. Highly coveted during the summer transfer window, the player was monitored by Juventus, AS Roma (whose sports director is Florent Ghisolfi) and Atalanta Bergamo (winner of the C3 at the end of last season) according to information from Calcio Mercato. The player ultimately remained in France, but the departure of Paulo Fonseca to AC Milan revives rumors of a departure to Italy in the coming months.
Towards a Milan – Zhegrova reunion next year?
Zhegrova, aged 25, has undoubtedly taken a step forward in Lille and even opened the door to a departure during the transfer window. Under contract with his club until 2026, he has not yet extended but has not clashed with his management, he who has the possibility of discovering the C1 this season. However, LOSC values its player at less than 30 million euros, which is an accessible amount for the transalpine teams who are keeping a close eye on his situation. The price is relatively low compared to its recent performance over the past few months. It remains to be seen whether AC Milan, now coached by Paulo Fonseca since the summer, will enter the race for his signature. In an interview with Prime Video a few months ago, Zhegrova confirmed that his reference coach was indeed Fonseca who had him under his command during the Portuguese technician’s two seasons in Lille. What reason to envisage a reunion between the two men next year?
