banned from traveling, Lorient supporters were still able to go into the parking lot

After using lasers in the visitor’s park in , supporters were initially banned from traveling to this Saturday. Several fan buses left Morbihan in the morning, and for security reasons, the prefecture preferred to open the parking lot.

Safety first, but at what cost? This Saturday, Lorient traveled to Caen for the eighth day of Ligue 2, but should not have counted on the support of its supporters. For having used lasers to hinder the broadcaster BeIn Sport against Pau (on September 24), Merlus fans were therefore not authorized to travel to .

At the start of the season, the Professional Football League (LFP) had decided to sanction the FCL with a suspended sentence, but the punishment was not dissuasive enough (after the new events that occurred in Béarn), the disciplinary committee then chose firmness, thus prohibiting Merlus supporters from moving into the visitor park during the next meeting, in Caen.

Open parking for security reasons

According to information from Ouest-, two buses of Lorient supporters left the city with six ports this Saturday morning. Hearing the news, the Calvados prefecture preferred to open the visitor parking lot for them in the last moments. And 130 Merlus fans were able to attend the meeting, as if nothing had happened. On the pitch at the Michel d’Ornano stadium, Lorient won in the final moments thanks to Mohamed Bamba’s goal (87th).

It remains to be seen the reaction of the League, which will certainly have to bang its fist on the table, to be more dissuasive.
