Sergio Ramos on his way to an unlikely destination

Free since the end of his contract with Sevilla FC last June, Sergio Ramos has not hung up his boots yet. The former Real and PSG defender could also bounce back in an unexpected club.

After two years at Saint-Germain and a twelve-month stint at Sevilla FC, Sergio Ramos is currently free as the air. However, there is no question for the 38-year-old Spanish defender of retiring. Rather in good physical shape, Sergio Ramos still has it under his belt and fully intends to continue hitting the pitches as long as he can… even if it means going to a totally improbable destination. During the summer, the United States was mentioned for Sergio Ramos, who could have bounced back at San Diego FC, or in Turkey, Brazil or Saudi Arabia. All these destinations have been mentioned, without this coming to fruition.

Sergio Ramos heading to Egypt?

On the other hand, the departure of Sergio Ramos for Egypt is starting to gain weight, if we rely on information from the local press. Zamalek holds the rope, as its president Hisham Nasr publicly confirmed. “Yes, there are negotiations with Ramos, it would be a sporting investment agreement and it will greatly improve the reputation of the club. We are working on an agreement, the player will join us once the salary is finally agreed” revealed the president of the Zamalek club, one of the flagship clubs on the African continent. An improbable and unexpected destination for Sergio Ramos, well on his way to discovering a new culture and an iconic club in Africa and, perhaps, ending his career there.
