But this time, the Saint-Etienne public will respond in force. According to the latest information from Event, more than 30,000 supporters are expected this Saturday, marking a first major meeting of the season for AS Saint-Etienne. The fervor of Saint-Etienne supporters is well known and could offer a significant advantage against a direct competitor to remaining in the elite of French football.
However, this renewed fervor will not be without risk. The antagonism between Saint-Etienne and Auxerre fans is well established, and the Loire Prefecture should take measures to regulate this sensitive trip. Around 600 Auxerre supporters are expected, which could increase the tension around this crucial match for the two historic clubs.
Despite this large crowd, it is important to note that the total capacity of Geoffroy-Guichard remains limited to 37,372 places due to the closure of the Kops North and South balconies.
