Already European champion (2023) and French champion (2023 and 2024) of Savate Boxe Française, Eliott Martineau added to his list of achievements the best line of his career, by becoming world champion, on October 12, 2024, in Slovenia .

For the young boxer from Durtal (Maine-et-) this world title represents “a dream”.

Savate French Boxing world champion after multiple failures

Before arriving on the roof of the world, the 24-year-old got down on one knee. “I have multiplied the failures. I didn't see a favorable outcome. I had lost confidence in myself and the hope of winning titles, so I decided to completely cut out competition between 2019 and 2021,” confides the person concerned.

During these two years, Eliott was followed by a hypnotherapist: “I didn't have much to lose. I had to change something in my approach to discipline. I tried and it worked. »

A shyness fought

Back in the rings, the Durtalois had a string of performances and titles, making him a leader in his category.

A new milestone for this fighter who started Savate Boxe Française at the age of 13, in Tiercé. “I was very shy and to combat that, my parents had the good idea to enroll me in a French boxing club. There, I was able to fully develop from the start. I was made for this. »

12 hours of training per week

Eleven years later, the young teenager has grown up and his thirst for victory is only just beginning. “We have already started six training sessions per week, two hours per day. I have other objectives to tick off, I don't intend to stop there,” insists the man who works in the technical services of La Flèche.

From November 9, the one who is licensed within the La Vaillante d' club will compete in a qualifying fight for the French French boxing championships. He will also get into kickboxing and full-contact. A new discipline for him, but very close to the one he has been practicing for years.

He counts on “his footwork, his speed of execution and his tactical intelligence” to add new prestigious lines to his list of achievements.
