In front of a very restricted circle – ministers, secretaries of state, artists and ideologues close to the regime – Viktor Orban presented his action plan for the coming months on Saturday, September 7. No journalists were allowed at the event. The sovereignist leader, usually very sparing with interviews, gave an impromptu press conference before a traditional picnic without really answering questions.

Tanned, without a jacket or tie, but in a pastel green shirt, Viktor Orban appeared very confident. The budget deficit is close to 7% but the Prime Minister praised the good health of the Hungarian economy. Although the European Commission has frozen 20 billion of European funds, according to him, the Hungary has enough money to last several years.
« Currently, we have 12 billion euros in the coffers! It is not money that is lacking; we just need to use it more quickly. ” said the Hungarian Prime Minister.
Viktor Orban, whose country currently holds the presidency of the European Union, has indicated that he has been thinking all summer about a new peace plan for Ukraine. Although his surprise trips to Moscow and Kiev in early July were widely criticized by his European counterparts, Viktor Orban announced other spectacular initiatives as early as September.
