After a difficult start to the season with two defeats in a row, the results of the cadet section of the GSF youth pole have finally arrived, and not the least, because an improved victory in Cassagne Bégonhès against Lévezou-Ségala, this does not happen not every year. They currently occupy third place in their group, a ranking which they will try to improve during the return matches. Seriousness and participation in the three weekly training sessions have a lot to do with the current good results. As proof, 13 of the young cadets are preselected to make up the Lot team.
As for the juniors, nothing to say for the moment, because the R1 team occupies first place in its group. With six victories for seven matches played, including four offensive bonuses on the clock, they have only experienced one defeat against Lévezou-Ségala. These more than honorable results augur well for a superb season.
For the R2 team, in agreement with Villefranche-de-Rouergue, the results are a little more complicated, but it nevertheless occupies an honorable fourth place in its group.
Mid-season, beyond expectations
If the three teams continue in this same spirit, and this same desire until the end of their championship, the spring should bring them a few singing Sundays.
“The mid-season results go beyond our expectations,” admits Jérôme Fel, head of the Youth Center. Concerning the cadets, we had some fears because we had not found a single friendly match for us to play. As a result, we started with two defeats, but since then, the victories have followed one another, including a reference to Lévezou. So much so that out of the 25 Lot cadets who make up the Lot team, 13 are from Figeac. On the junior side, it’s also very good with a first place in the ranking! First in R1, it’s been a long time since that happened at the GSF. Since the start of the season, five juniors have been taken into the senior group. It’s a pleasure to coach these young people, who are above all a great group of friends.”
