Top 14 – Vannes towards relocation? “There are not 36 options”, says RCV president Olivier Cloarec

RC president Olivier Cloarec has suggested the idea of relocating the Breton club for future Top 14 matches, while the Rabine seems narrow for a rugby audience that is expanding in Morbihan. For him, only a stadium can be a viable option to host the promoted team.

“We can’t help but say that we could organise one or two great Breton rugby festivals,” launched the president of the Rugby Club of Vannes Olivier Cloarec, when the subject of relocations comes up on the table. Since the end of last season – the title acquired and therefore the promotion confirmed – the RCV has entered a new dimension.

Already renowned for its fiery and loyal public, the Breton rise does not seem to be over. While La Rabine, the stadium in Vannes, is full at every match, the Breton board sees life on a grander scale, particularly for matches with a certain geographical proximity. “During the reception of Stade Rochelais (May 10, 2025) or the Union Bègles on November 23, specifies the boss of the Morbihan club. […] I know there is frustration among the supporters. We saw it again at the opening of the ticketing for the reception of . It was not easy. The requests are so important. We want to respond to as many people as possible. For the Bretons to be able to benefit from it, the easiest solution would be to relocate and go to a bigger stadium. We did not stop ourselves from thinking about it.”

Roudourou, Moustoir, Rohazon…

If relocation is now being considered and in the Breton thinking heads, it remains to be determined which lairs could accommodate the blue fervor. For reasons of capacity mainly, one stadium in particular caught the attention of Olivier Cloarec: “There are not 36 options. It could be . We can congratulate Stade Brestois for winning the Champions League at the Roudourou stadium. There is an extraordinary atmosphere. The Guingamp stadium would be too small for us. The stadium too. The closest stadium, with a good capacity, is the Roazhon Park.” If the desires are therefore clear on the Vannes side, “We haven’t decided on anything. This is a subject that we will look at with the board of directors and the supervisory board,” explains the president.
