Maybe? No, not anymore: Definitely! Oasis reunites and goes on tour in 2025

It’s been 15 years since Noel and Liam Gallagher last performed together, after splitting following a backstage row in Paris. The reunion comes on the 30th anniversary of the album ‘Definitely Maybe’ that made them global stars.

After days, months and years of speculation, legendary Manchester band Oasis have announced their reunion, their first since their legendary fraternal fall-out at Rock en Seine in 2009, and, in the process, a series of reunion concerts next year as part of a world tour.

Noel and Liam Gallagher shared the news of the Oasis Live 25 tour on their social media sites, as well as the official Oasis accounts, saying: “It’s confirmed.”

Although this is a world tour, the shows confirmed so far are only for the UK and Ireland. Currently, the band will play stadiums in Cardiff, London and Manchester (4 dates in each of the latter 2 cities), Edinburgh and Dublin in July and August 2025. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday 31st August.

A press release calls the concerts a “national leg” of the tour, while promising fans further afield that “plans are underway” to extend beyond Europe later in 2025.

“It won’t be televised”

In their first comment on the announcement, the two main members of the group said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. This will not be televised.”

For now, It is unknown whether other historical members of Oasisapart from the Gallagher brothers, will also be there.

The announcement follows rumours the band will headline Glastonbury 2025 and play a series of shows next year, including ten dates at London’s Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Etihad Stadium.

The Gallagher brothers have done little to quell speculation that an Oasis reunion is imminent, hinting that a big announcement could be made.

The former singer and the songwriter-guitarist have both taken to social media in recent days to fuel fan frenzy over a possible 2025 Oasis tour.

A short clip featuring the font and style of the band’s logo was shared on the brothers’ social media accounts on Sunday evening (August 25), as well as on Oasis’ official accounts.

The clip shows a black sign reading “27.08.24”, which flashes and changes to “8am”.

The same clip hinting at Tuesday’s date was also shown on the main stage screens during Liam’s Reading Festival gig on Sunday night, where he dedicated Oasis’ track ‘Half The World Away’ to his brother and their track ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ to people he says hate the rock band.

Reunion rumours have swirled over the past year, particularly as relations between Liam and Noel have apparently thawed. Their feud has led to the failure of several tours, with Noel leaving the band after a backstage fight in 2009 in Paris.

The announcement coincides with the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” which launched them to fame. The record will be reissued on August 30 with the addition of several new tracks – enough to keep fans waiting (salivating?) for shows next year.
