LIMA – Carole Lynn Mackey, 77, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 7:50 pm, at The Springs of Lima.
Carole was born September 29, 1946, in Lima, to John J. and Anna Ruth (Coffey) Leonard who preceded her in death. On November 2, 1964, she married Roy Alfred Mackey who preceded her in death July 29, 2012.
Survivors include her sister, Wanda (Eldon) Miller of Lima and her nieces and nephews that she helped to raise: Jerry Scheele, John Scheele, Gregory Miller and Angela Miller.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Ruth A. Scheele.
Carole was an employee of Walmart in the toy department and Toys R Us. Her passion in life was volunteering for Deb’s Dogs which she did up until her admittance to The Springs. She loved to help anyone who asked her to.
Services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, with Rev. Charlotte Hefner to officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
