The Polish goalkeeper has just left behind his long career at the Juventusbefore which he had also played for Roma and Arsenal.

In June 2006, I left my hometown of Warsaw to join Arsenal with a dream: to make a living from football. I didn’t just follow my dreams, I went as far as my imagination dared to take me. I made lifelong friends, created unforgettable memories and met people who had an incredible impact on my life. Everything I have and everything I am, I owe to this beautiful game of football.”wrote the goalkeeper.

But I also gave this sport everything I had. I gave 18 years of my life to the game, every day, without apology. Today, although my body still feels ready to take on the challenges, my heart is no longer in it.. This is why I decided to retire from professional football” he announced.
