Maxime Valet aims for the podium

from 11:40 a.m. – Men’s wheelchair fencing foil category B.

He is surely the best chance of a wheelchair fencing medal at these Paris 2024 Paralympic Games for the French delegation. Maxime Valet is a natural candidate for the podium in both sabre and foil in the splendid site of the Grand Palais. At 37, this sports doctor already has three Paralympic medals to his name. Bronze each time, in team foil in Rio in 2016 and in Tokyo in 2020 and in individual foil in Rio in 2016. This time, his only goal will be to reach as many finals as possible.

French Para Weightlifters in the Final

  • from 12:00 – Para weightlifting men

There will be two French athletes in the para-weightlifting final this Wednesday. Alex Adélaïde in the 49 kg category and Axel Bourlon in the 54 kg category. The first of the two, Alex Adélaïde, first went through para-athletics before devoting himself to para-weightlifting, climbing onto the podium with his teammates at the world championships in Dubai in 2023. Axel Bourlon is a silver medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and intends to do at least as well in Paris. With his 15 French champion titles and numerous national records, he has everything he needs to shine on Wednesday.

Tanguy de la Forest wants a third

from 12:30 p.m. – Para sport shooting R9 50 m rifle prone position mixed SH2.

He is one of the attractions of these Paralympic Games in the French delegation. Already a double medallist in these Games after winning silver in the 10M SH2 rifle shooting, the five-time world champion won the Olympic title this Sunday in the 10m SH2 prone air rifle shooting by achieving an incredible, cool-headed final. The athlete who had to wait six editions to bring home his first Paralympic medals from the Games will want to continue his momentum this Wednesday in the 50M SH2 prone rifle shooting.

Fabien Lamirault in para-table tennis

  • 5:00 p.m. – Para table tennis men’s singles MS2 (Semi-final)

Fabien Lamirault already has the bronze medal assured with his qualification in the semi-final of the MS2 para-table tennis, but the leader of the French team wants more. The world number 1’s only goal is gold. A title that would add to an impressive list of achievements: Olympic champion in singles and doubles in Tokyo and Rio and bronze medalist in Paris in doubles with Julian Michaud a few days ago. The one who hesitated to stop after Tokyo has since saved himself for the big events, with one of them in his sights, Paris 2024.

Dimitri Pavade jumps for the medal

  • 8:29 p.m. – Para athletics men’s long jump T64 (Final)

The reigning Paralympic long jump (T64) vice-champion, Dimitri Pavade, will try to win a new medal this Wednesday at the age of 35, in Paris. However, he was afraid of not being able to participate in these Games, after suffering a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on the side of his leg that was amputated just before the World Para-Athletics Championships in Paris. After several months of rehabilitation and re-athleticization, he made his comeback by setting a new French record in his category with a jump of 7.59 meters during the French Championships in Albi.
