Posted today at 2:09 p.m.

A fire broke out at 34, boulevard des Tranchées at the start of the afternoon. According to our information, it is due to an explosion which occurred on the top floor of an old building.

Firefighters deployed two large ladders. At least twelve vehicles are currently at the scene. Many onlookers crowd in front of the building. “I was in my car. It made a big boom, it was very violent, ”says a motorist.

Another driver saw the explosion live and pulled over to the side of the road. “I heard a noise and saw the roof flying. I sped up so it wouldn’t fall on me. My car is full of debris and glass,” he says, still shocked.

The fire station received numerous calls at 1:22 p.m. The SIS was on the scene six minutes later. Boulevard des Tranchées is closed to traffic.

Development follows.
