Known in the neighborhood for disruptive behavior: The victim makes a remark to him, he stabs her to death in the street

Despite the efforts of the firefighters and the emergency services, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

On Monday evening, a man in his forties was tragically stabbed in Garges-lès-Gonesse, in Val-d’Oise. The main suspect was quickly arrested.

Emergency services were called around 7pm on 26 August to help a man who had been seriously injured by a knife on the public highway. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the firefighters and the emergency services to resuscitate him, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Venomous dispute

According to information from the Pontoise public prosecutor’s office, reported by France 3 Paris Île-de-France, the altercation began after the victim made a remark to the alleged perpetrator, a 22-year-old man, known in the area for disruptive behavior and who, at the time of the incident, was drunk.

The argument quickly escalated, leading the suspect to stab the victim several times, particularly in the chest and shoulder.

A police officer on leave

The attacker was arrested shortly after the incident by a police officer who was not on duty at the time.

An investigation into voluntary homicide has been entrusted to the judicial police, as confirmed by the public prosecutor.
