Quebec weather: maybe the last humidex day of the summer

The warm weather will continue this Tuesday, but the arrival of a rain system from the western sectors of the province will cause the mercury to drop as of Wednesday.

Temperatures will reach 30 degrees in Montreal and will remain in summer values elsewhere under a sky alternating between sun and clouds, while showers are expected in western Quebec between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

Environment Canada has also issued a special weather bulletin for several areas, such as Val-d’Or, Papineauville – Chénéville, Témiscamingue and the Lièvre River in particular.

“In general, a total of 20 to 40 millimetres is expected. However, the storms that will accompany the rain could increase the quantities received to more than 50 millimetres in places in western Quebec,” the federal agency indicated.

In Quebec, the morning sun will give way to cloudiness in the afternoon, where gusts of 40 km/h will sweep through several areas with temperatures of 27 degrees, according to the government agency.

Clouds will also be more present in Eastern Quebec, with the exception of the Gaspé Peninsula where it will be nice with 29 degrees, while the North Shore will see the mercury drop.

The depression will affect the rest of the province on Wednesday with perhaps less intense showers, but that will not prevent the sudden drop in temperatures, which will range between 22 in Montreal and between 19 and 21 degrees elsewhere in the province.
