The Minister of Infrastructure, Land and Air Transport, Yankhoba Diémérevealed this Thursday in Mbour that 18,000 registration requests two-wheelers were registered throughout the national territory, less than three weeks after the launch of the operation.
Encouraging results
During a workshop devoted to the development of his department’s sectoral development policy letter (LPSD), Yankhoba Diémé welcomed these figures:
“The regions of Ziguinchor and Kaolack, outside Dakar, recorded the highest number of enlistments. This shows strong commitment, even in regions where demonstrations had been noted. »
The minister also noted that Ziguinchor has a rejection rate of only 2%a sign of an efficient registration process in this region.
-Low rate of withdrawal of registration cards
Despite the significant number of requests, the minister expressed concerns regarding the low withdrawal rate gray cards. On the 11,000 cards issueda significant portion has not yet been withdrawn by the plaintiffs.
Outlook: strengthening national coverage
To meet growing demand and improve access to services, the ministry plans to install 17 new mining services across Senegal. This initiative aims to further facilitate registration operations and guarantee better coverage of the national territory.
This registration campaign reflects the efforts of the authorities to regularize the two-wheel sectorstrengthen road safety and modernize the vehicle identification system.
