Congo-Morocco: the two countries strengthen their cooperation

The two personalities exchanged on subjects related to bilateral cooperation between Congo and Morocco which have maintained, for years, excellent relations of friendship and cooperation, as evidenced by high-level visits carried out reciprocally by the various authorities.

Let us recall that the Head of State, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, took part, in November 2016, in Marrakech, at COP 22. For his part, King Mohammed VI made a state visit in 2018, to the occasion of the very first summit of heads of state and government of the Climate Commission and the Blue Fund for the Congo Basin.

On the sidelines of this event, King Mohammed VI and President Denis Sassou N’Guesso chaired the signing ceremony of several bilateral cooperation agreements in various fields. Recently, in August 2024, Morocco and Congo signed in Rabat a memorandum of understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the areas of the environment and sustainable development.

The various agreements are in line with the royal orientation aimed at strengthening the South-South partnership. They gave new impetus to cooperation between Rabat and Brazzaville and reinforced the strategic vision of the Kingdom of Morocco towards African countries in general and the Congo in particular.
