The Intelcom company published job offers on its website on Wednesday, shortly after the announcement of the sudden departure of Amazon, which is closing seven of its sites in Quebec.

The Montreal company, which is already an Amazon subcontractor for delivery and sorting services, seems to be working to take part of the place left vacant by the American giant.
Several new job offers appeared on its website on Wednesday morning and in the last few days.
In a written statement, Intelcom acknowledged that Amazon is among its customers. “We have a long-standing relationship with them and we will continue to work closely to balance their delivery needs in Quebec,” it was indicated.
-At the time of writing, Intelcom CEO Jean-Sébastien Joly had not responded to interview requests from the Journal.
Remember that the closure of Amazon’s seven sites in Quebec will result in the layoff of more than 1,700 employees.
According to the Minister of Employment, Kateri Champagne Jourdain, the multinational did not notify the government before announcing these closures.
The union which represents the 300 employees of the DXT4 center in Laval and the delivery service partners learned the news Wednesday morning in an email.
