The vehicle then caught fire. The flames completely damaged it. “But no one was injured or inconvenienced by the fumes, or even shocked,” we can be reassured about the public transport network.

The firefighters were alerted at 6:05 p.m. They intervened to put out the burning bus. A rather spectacular scene which could be observed by many people at this rush hour. Traffic on the N4 but also in the side streets of Erpent was chaotic for a long time.

A long time after the fire, a team from the control department awaited the arrival of the Namur troubleshooter De Greef.

The left rear of the bus was completely destroyed by the flames. A TEC mechanic on duty is also on site. “But we obviously can’t do much. We will also have to wait for the opinion of the expert who will have to determine the causes of this fire,” explained this privileged witness.

The driver did not ask for his rest. “He has already taken another vehicle to provide another service,” underlines Damien Magrit. A nice sense of public service.
