Even if he plays little, Naoto Saïto is a happy man. The Japanese who joined Stade Toulousain last summer spoke to The Dispatch about its adaptation. A scrum half like Antoine Dupont, he focused in particular on the relationship he had with Bigourdan and the advice the latter gave him.

“Even if I haven't played a lot lately, I still learned a lot of things from the team, from the coach, from Toto (Antoine Dupont), from Paul (Graou)…” begins the Japanese international . Before detailing what he considers to be an opportunity: training alongside number 9 of the Blues.

“I'll give you an example,” says Saïto. “If I have a question about a combination, about what he would have done in my place, I ask him and Toto explains everything to me. He passes on his experience and his way of thinking about spaces, his vision of the game and also about races… He is very, very erudite.” He continues: “During a session, we trained together, I was 9 and he was playing 10, I was really impressed. He sees everything, every space, every solution… It's crazy. I'm learning a lot with him.”

While he has played nine Top 14 matches with the “rouge et noir” this season, Naoto Saïto is full of praise for his teammate: “He's a good teacher. And a good human. Very humble . Very humble and of course a good player. Perhaps one of the best in the world.”
