Al-Ahly is intensifying its negotiations with Achraf Bencharki, currently under contract with the Qatari club Al-Rayyan, with a view to recruiting him during the current winter transfer period, reports the Egyptian press.
According to the newspaper Youm7, the main obstacle to the conclusion of this transaction lies in disagreements regarding the player’s annual salary. Bencharki is demanding an amount in excess of $1.5 million, in addition to finalizing the details of his departure from Al-Rayyan.
Al-Ahly’s interest in Bencharki is part of the club’s strategy to strengthen its squad with at least two or three foreign recruitments during the winter transfer window. Negotiations with several foreign players continue in order to meet the technical needs of the team.
-Bencharki has played 16 matches in all competitions this season for Al-Rayyan, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists. The Atlas Lion spent a season with Al-Rayyan who decided not to renew his contract.
Before Al Rayyan, Bencharki also spent a season with Al Jazeera, during which he played 33 matches in all tournaments, in which he scored 9 goals.
