Servette starts laboriously, but finishes strong against Saint-Gall

Fifth in the Super League, Servette FC is preparing to experience an intense second part of the season: Thomas Häberli’s players are only 2 points from the lead. At the same time, they are only 3 points ahead of 7th place.

After a one-week training camp in Benidorm (Spain) with two friendly matches, defeat against NAC Breda (2-3) then victory over Karlsruhe (3-1), the time for resumption has come for the Thomas Häberli players. For his deputy, the preparation was fruitful.

The Servette football club is preparing to experience a very intense second round. A championship which will be that of all hopes but also of all risks.

It would be stupid to talk about titles now. Timothé Cognat

With only two points behind FC Lugano – currently alone in the lead – the garnet eleven can dream of an incredible outcome with the conquest of a Swiss championship title; do the players talk about it among themselves?

One day or another, Servette will regain the title of Swiss champion! Steve Rouiller

Rarely have the gaps been so tight in the Super League. Corollary, we can say that this is the opportunity or never for Servette to seize his chance by winning a new championship title twenty-six years after the seventeenth.

But at the same time, the Servettians are only three points ahead of FC Sion, currently seventh. However, only the first six play the final round for the title. If they were not part of it, they would no longer have the slightest hope of qualifying for a European competition. And everyone is aware of this, including Bojan Dimic.

With a full contingent, we can get the first 3 places. Bojan Dimic

It is difficult in these conditions to set a goal. According to the assistant coach, he firmly believes that his team has the means to finish on the podium… provided they are spared from injuries and suspensions.

Either way, the players are not putting pressure on themselves to win a trophy this season…

The winter break also allowed us to take stock of the first round.

What should we do differently in the second round to be more consistent and get better results?

Several players are returning from injuries like Alexis Antunes or from suspension like Timothé Cognat without forgetting Julian von Moos, also recovered. Valuable assets for the SFC…
