“We will soon take measures to definitively resolve this problem,” said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about terrorist organizations in Syria, notably the YPG.
Erdogan spoke on Saturday during a meeting with members of his party (the AKParti) in Mersin in the southeast of Türkiye.
Assuring that no tolerance will be granted to the YPG terrorist organization which controls 1/3 of Syrian territory, Erdogan continued:
“We will soon take steps to permanently resolve this issue.”
For the Turkish leader, terrorist organizations in the region are, as is the case in Syria, used to implement different scenarios.
“By laying down arms or eliminating terrorist organizations, we are determined to prevent the implementation of new scenarios in Syria,” he insisted before adding:
-“The era of those who, for a century, have roamed this region at will, practicing the policy of “divide and rule” is over.”
Erdogan also once again gave his support to Syrian migrants present on Turkish soil, reminding that no one will be returned by force.
“We will not let a few racist fanatics cast a shadow on the solidarity between Türkiye and Syria,” he said.
The Turkish head of state spoke in particular of the ceasefire signed in Gaza and which should come into force on Sunday January 19, ensuring that it will contribute to changing the atmosphere in the region.
“The example of Gaza is striking proof that oppression cannot be victorious. Israel has also harmed Jews living in different parts of the world through the atrocities it has committed in Gaza and other Palestinian cities. Because after the massacres of women, children and innocents committed by Israel, no one will be able to look at this society with the feeling of guilt inspired by the genocide of which it was the victim during the Second World War,” he said. he concluded.
