Three Moroccan trucks on board four Moroccans disappeared between Burkina Faso and Niger, reliable sources in the international goods transport sector reported.
According to these same sources consulted by Hespress, the three trucks had completed their initial journey from the town of Dori in Burkina Faso towards the town of Téra in Niger, before disappearing since the early hours of Saturday morning.
Sources among other Moroccan drivers of international goods transport trucks in Dori, Burkina Faso, told Hespress that “rumors had been circulating since the disappearance that members of Boko Haram had kidnapped the four Moroccan drivers” .
The General Union of National and International Transport Professionals launched an appeal to the Moroccan diplomatic authorities in Niger and Burkina Faso to “obtain information on the three trucks and their four occupants”.
The union’s secretary general, El Charki El Hamchi, said that “these four drivers have not been found since the early hours of Saturday morning, amid rumors of their kidnapping by Boko Haram.”
-El Hamchi called on Moroccan diplomatic authorities to “clarify the location of these drivers in order to put an end to these worrying rumors.”
No news on their location and condition has been released at this time.
