Accidental fall or criminal act? This is the question that investigators from the Louga central police station are trying to answer after the tragic death of young tailor Khadim Dioum. The latter died in the night from Wednesday to Thursday, after falling from a 3rd floor located in the city center. According to L’Observateur, a suspect was arrested as part of the investigation.
The news shocked the Marbath district, where the victim lived with his family. According to witnesses cited by L’Observateur, Khadim Dioum suffered a sudden fall around 1 a.m. A passerby, alerted by the noise, discovered the inert body of the young man lying on the ground, near the road leading to CEM Modou Awa Balla Mbacké. The security guards quickly alerted the firefighters of the 52nd fire and rescue company, who, with the help of the police, evacuated the victim to the Amadou Sakhir Mbaye regional hospital center. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to the medical certificate, Khadim Dioum died as a result of open head trauma, significant hemorrhage and multiple maxillofacial fractures. As reported by L’Observateur, investigators identified the room from which the victim fell and found clues, including a shoe and a cell phone. The owner of these items was taken into police custody. Investigations are continuing to shed light on this matter.
