Extreme cold is expected in several regions of the province in the coming days, according to forecasts from Environment Canada.

The federal agency notably forecasts a wind chill of minus 38 to minus 42, from Saturday evening to Wednesday, in the Amos sector in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
“An arctic air mass with weak to moderate winds will intrude into western Quebec starting on Saturday while propagating eastward over the following days,” Environment Canada said on its website. Maximum temperatures will remain below -20 degrees Celsius while night temperatures will be below -30 degrees Celsius until Wednesday.”
“The risks are greatest for young children, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and those who work or exercise outdoors,” she added. […] If it’s too cold for you outside, so is your pet. An extreme cold warning is issued when wind chill or very cold temperatures pose a high health hazard.”
-The cold could reach Montreal on Monday and Tuesday with minimum temperatures ranging from minus 21 to minus 24.
In Quebec, the scenario is similar with a minimum of minus 28 and minus 29 degrees for the start of the week.
As for Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Environment Canada is forecasting a minimum temperature below minus 20 degrees from Sunday to Wednesday.
