DECRYPTION – The group still remains far from the sales thresholds for electric vehicles set by Brussels.
When the market declines, a small step forward is hailed as a feat. With its Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands, the Renault group sold 2.264 million vehicles last year (+ 1.3%), two thirds of which were in Europe (1.59 million). But it did much better than Stellantis, weighed down by its difficulties in North America. The group led by Carlos Tavares until the 1is December billed 12% fewer vehicles overall in 2024 than in 2023. The decline is 25% in North America, compared to 8% in enlarged Europe. Stellantis, whose deliveries fell by 9% in the last quarter, all brands combined, nevertheless believes that it has recovered well compared to the previous quarter, when it had lost 20% of its volumes worldwide.
